On Tuesday, Fly Jinnah, a low-cost airline for domestic routes, declared that it had received the necessary airline license. The airline has received Air Operator Certificate (AOC) and Air Operating License (AOL) to be operational from Jinnah Terminal Airport, Karachi.

Fly Jinnah, a domestic airline, is a joint venture of Air Arabia Group and Lakson Group. Air Arabia runs the first and the biggest low-cost carrier in the Middle East and North Africa. Likewise, Lakson Group is one of the leading business conglomerates. Thus, in a press release, the company said it had received a Regular Public Transport License from the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA). The Federal Government of Pakistan approved the issuance of the license.

Undoubtedly, securing the AOL and AOC indicates that the airline has met all the necessary professional requirements. The airline comprises all the safety and technical regulations. However, the company is safe and secure to operate as a passenger and cargo airline. The press release elaborates the airline is in “full compliance” with all the technical and operational specifications set by the PCAA.

Moreover, the company would continue coordinating with the PCAA to decide the launch date for operating the flights. FJ Chairman of the company said, we have made a lot of effort to avail the licenses. The company aims to launch its operations and contribute to the economy.

In a press release, Adel Al Ali, CEO of Air Arabia Group, stated that we are highly thankful to PCAA. PCAA supports us throughout the entire process. However, obtaining the licenses was not an easy task. But, we are confident that Fly Jinnah (FJ) will add significant value to the air transport sector of Pakistan.

The press release said that the company had to show thoroughly trained and qualified personnel to obtain the AOC. A vital infrastructure, systems, processes, and procedures were essential to meet the requirements and guarantee passengers’ safety.

Alas, it added that the carrier would start its operations with a fleet of three Airbus A320 aircraft. The airline will be based in Karachi and serve its operations domestically before expanding its network internationally.
