Saudi Arabia is best known for its restrictions on Women. Women were banned from driving for more than 60 years, until now.
Now, the rules have changed and Saudi Arabia started issuing driving licenses to women. Thousands of women have signed up for driving lessons. The lifting of the driving ban was announced last September and is part of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s program to modernize some aspects of Saudi society.
Ladies got behind the wheel on 24th June, midnight. Ladies all over the country took their cars out on the road and happily celebrated this historic moment.
Police officers were seen distributing roses to female drivers congratulating them on this day.
