A picture of four women playing a board game at Khana-e-Kaba was made viral on social media recently. The fully covered women were playing a game called Sequence near King Abdul Aziz Gate. Authorities were alerted and the supervision officers went up to the women to ask them to respect the sanctity of the mosque. The women complied and left immediately.

This sparked a lot of condemnation from people online, some saying it was a clear disrespect for the pious place of worship. People also started to wonder if the use of smartphones was proper in a mosque as well. The controversial debate got many to participate. There were some that commented it was just a harmless but should it have been done in the most auspicious location for Muslims where people to pray and worship only?
