Ustad Amanat Ali Khan Remembered on 44th Death Anniversary
On the day of the 44th death anniversary of the ghazal icon, Ustad Amanat Ali Khan, the Patiala Gharana is remembering him through a ceremony paying tribute to him and other legendary singers of the past in Lahore today. Ustad Amanat Ali Khan was a great classical singer who left behind a legacy of musical masterpieces.
The singer’s family like his brother Ustad Hamid Ali Khan and son Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan are the hosts of the ceremony to celebrate his work for the country through his music. “The Patiala family is very proud of Ustad Amanat Ali Khan for all his achievements. He did a lot during his life and he sang everything with excellence,” said his brother. “His work is an asset of our family, as well as our music industry. Understandably, we are all very sad on the occasion of his death anniversary.”
His sons Asad Amanat Ali Khan and Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan were both gifted with their father’s talents but the former passed away in 2007. While Shafqat and Ustad Hamid keep wowing the audience with their musical works.
Ustad Amanat Ali Khan wowed the world by performing in many countries during his career with hits like Insha Ji Utho Ab Kuch Karo, Yeh Arzoo Thi Tujhe Gul, Kab Aogay, Honton Pe Kabhi Unke Mera Naam, Mora Jiya Na Lagay etc.
