The latest installment in the X-Men franchise is the Jean Grey-centric X-Men: Dark Phoenix. In the trailer we see Jean Grey as a child who is already so powerful at such a young age. The movie’s plotline will focus on Grey’s relationship with the Phoenix, an entity that comes from outer space and gives her powers, and how it affects her mind as well as body.

Her powers seem to be getting the better of her and tearing the X-Men apart member by member. We got to see a version of this in X-Men: The Last Stand where Magneto uses an older Jean Grey, played by Famke Janssen, to unleash hell on Earth.

However, this version of the character is much younger, played by Sophie Turner, and less in control of her powers. The movie is scheduled to be released in February next year.
