PSL4: Shane Watson agrees to play in Pakistan
Former Australia all-rounder Shane Watson has agreed to travel to Habib Bank Limited (HBL) Pakistan for Pakistan Super League (PSL) season four.
The 37-year-old — who represented Australia in 59 Tests, 190 One-Day Internationals (ODI) and 58 Twenty20 Internationals (T20I) — made his decision on request of Quetta Gladiators owner Nadeem Omar.
According to sources, the team management had a long meeting with Watson which ended earlier in the morning. They had tried to convince the all-rounder and succeeded.
Watson made the decision after consulting with his family members and after the assurance of full-proof security in Karachi by the team management.
The Gladiators team manager Azam Khan also confirmed the news to media that Watson will be travelling to Pakistan.
Shane Watson is a key member of the Gladiators squad at the top order. He is also the leading runs scorer for this year’s PSL. He has scored 318 runs at an average of 53.00 in nine matches.
