Pakistan’s All-Girls Team from NUST builds a Formula Race Car for an International Competition
Pakistani women making us proud yet again!
Female students from National University of Science and Technology (NUST) have developed a Formula car. The all-girls team has put enormous efforts to develop the master piece for an international competition which will be held at the Silverstone car racing track in UK, this month.
Their team is called “Team Auj” and consists of 15 members.
“It was a challenging job, but we completed our Formula car in just five months,” Harim Akhtar one of the team members said in an interview.
They had designed and built the car from scratch using local parts,
including the engine, for the prototype, enabling them to keep costs down to $4,929.
The initiative is breaking the stereotype that women aren’t interested in cars, sports, engineering and many more. Just before everyone is about to question a woman’s capabilities, they achieve something extra ordinary and leave you speechless.
About the car
- 0-100 in 4.5 second acceleration time
- 90 bhp horsepower
- carbon-fiber reinforced automation
