Sardar Muhammad Yousuf who is the Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has said that on Guru Nanak Devji’s 550th birthday in November, a special coin will be issued in his honor. The announcement came at the Baisakhi festival at Gurdwara Punja Sahib in Hassanabdal on Saturday.

With MPA Ramesh Singh Arora, Sikh Parbandhak Committee President Sardar Tara Singh, Matroka Waqf Imlak Board Secretary Muhammad Tariq and many other Sikhs from all over the world as well as India in attendance, the announcement was met with a grateful response from Sardar Gurmeet Singh who was the Head of Sikh pilgrims who had come from India. He also praised Pakistan’s efforts in maintaining the safety and sacredness of their places of worship.

Guru Nanak is respected and revered all around the world and Pakistan will not let minorities suffer a lack of rights to practice their religion or customs freely. With such efforts, the minorities of Pakistan will be empowered as well as the ties between India and Pakistan could be improved.
