NED University Builds First South Asian Virtual Reality Lab
NED University of Karachi has just established a virtual reality lab in their civil engineering department, the first university in all of South Asia to do so. The virtual reality center was built to be used for medical research or other professional purposes. It took around Rs. 15 million to build the lab and it has three main systems including projection VR system, virtual teaming system and a walking VR [virtual reality] system.
Since virtual reality uses 3D models and animations, the research work would be even more efficient and cost-effective. Students and teachers could work on real-life models and make amendments in real time without having to leave the institute. This will also decrease the rate of errors and gradually improve many professions.
Such a thing is exactly what is needed to better medical research, construction, architecture and other such businesses in Pakistan. The innovative approach was brought forward by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Sarwish Lodhi who thought students would learn more and better if they were virtually exposed to fieldwork.Disclaimer:We do not allow users to post content which is copyright and We take strict actions against the users who post infringement content on our website.Although we do not host any content, users post embed videos from youtube, facebook, Dailymotion and Vimeo and are moderated before posting but we still take strict action against the copyright videos posted. If you are an official representative of any company whose videos are posted illegally on our website or you think some video infringe the copyright then you can simply send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
