Malala Yousafzai Comes Back Home After 6 Years
After being driven by one of the most horrific terrorist attacks in the country, Malala Yousafzai has returned to Pakistan after 6 years. When she was shot by Taliban militants in her hometown of Swat and suffered serious head injury, she was transported to UK to be treated where she then stayed for the past six years.
Malala came home in the early hours of the morning on Thursday in Islamabad along with her family and her foundation’s officials. Her arrival was kept a secret for security purposes and she is set to meet with the Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa and other Pakistani officials today.
The youngest winner of the Nobel peace prize is here to talk about educational progress in the less-developed areas of Pakistan as the topic of education for girls has been important to her ever since the tragic events of the terrorist attack. That is the mission of the Malala Foundation as well.
Her arrival was met with a warm welcome from Pakistani actress Mahira Khan as well who tweeted welcoming her home.
