Jessica Lange Returning for American Horror Story’s Season 8?
American Horror Story is an anthology series by Ryan Murphy with dark and disturbing themes. The horror show has garnered quite a following since its first season aired in 2011. One of the main reasons for this was the actress Jessica Lange who appeared in the first four season of the show.
Since every season of the show is based on different storylines and characters, the actors always play different roles. Lange has played a witch, a circus leader, a nun throughout the seasons. When she declined to appear in later seasons, fans were devastated since the actress always brought a new level of charm to the show.
During an all-female conference on Friday, actress and executive producer Sarah Paulson revealed that the beloved actress will be making a comeback in an episode directed by Paulson. “Jessica will be returning as Constance in an episode that I’m going to direct”, Paulson said about Lange’s appearance as the same character she played in season 1, in the sixth episode of the upcoming season.
The eighth season, American Horror Story: Apocalypse, will be set 18 months in the future after the world has ended and will be a crossover of the first and third seasons of the series, Murder House and Coven, respectively.
According to Paulson, she will be playing a multitude of characters including Billie Dean Howard (who previously appeared in Murder Houseand Hotel), Cordelia Foxx (Coven) and a new name Ms. Wilhemina Venable.
Leslie Grossman will play Coco St. Pierre Vanderbilt.
Billie Lourd will play Mallory.
Adina Porter will play Dinah Stevens.
Emma Roberts will be reprising her character from Coven as Madison Montgomery.
According to the executive producer Alexis Martin Woodall, they have “invited all the witches to return — whether or not they return is TBD.”
