Instagram has recently rolled out a new feature for testing on a few users that allows them to see when someone takes a screenshot of their Instagram stories and notifies the person if you take a screenshot of their story. It is only in its testing stages but this feature has already got people worried. People are lamenting about the freedom they had of being able to see and save someone else’s stories.

Many people screenshot stories about a restaurant they wan to go to, a meal they want to recreate, a dress they want to buy etc. However, the feature is only being tested at the moment and the only way you will find out who took a screenshot of your story is when you see the list of viewers and a camera shutter logo appears next to the person’s name. There are no specific notifications that appear on your app. There is already a screenshot alert that you get when someone screenshot a direct message. But only time will tell if Instagram decides to keep this new feature or not based on the heavy criticism.
