First Look at ‘Captain Marvel’ in Official Trailer
After watching Avengers: Infinity War, during the end-credits scene where Nick Fury disintegrates into dust we see that he was trying to reach someone on a pager. Later, it was revealed that he was trying to contact Captain Marvel, a superhero we have not yet met in the MCU.
Then earlier this month, Entertainment Weekly released pictures showing the first look at the mysterious Captain Marvel.
So far, what we know is that Carol Danvers (played by Brie Larson) will already have her powers which means this won’t be an origin story. She’s left Earth to join a team known as Starforce, which is led by a character played by Jude Law.
The feature also confirms that she’ll run into Ronan — we first met him in Guardians of the Galaxy — and the Skrulls, shape-shifting aliens who have long been classic villains in Marvel’s comics. The 1990s-set film will also feature a younger Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg).
It will feature also Danvers’ time as a pilot for the US Air Force.
In the first official trailer, we see Danvers returning to Earth. She says that she had some memories of her time there, but she seems to have lost many of them after becoming a member of Starforce.
It looks as though she’s tracking someone down, and she appears to enlist an unlikely ally in the form of Nick Fury.
The movie is currently set to be released on March 8th, 2019. We will have to wait and see how this new character would come into play in helping the Avengers defeat Thanos.
