Facebook Adds Safety Feature for Profile Pictures
With the rate of cyber crime and bullying increasing every day, it has become essential for companies to introduce safety protocols to ensure a user’s data remains private and safe. Facebook has introduced a safety feature for its users that allows them to protect their profile pictures from being downloaded by people with malicious intent.
The Profile Picture Guard lets you put a design on your profile picture that inhibits anyone from downloading it or sharing it externally. People in Pakistan, especially women, feel insecure about posting their pictures on social media because they are then subjected to risks like people editing their pictures or downloading it for wrong reasons. Nighat Dad from the Digital Rights Foundation said, “Facebook’s new Profile Picture Guard is a great tool to help women reclaim their online space. It will let women take control of their identities online and help them to start a larger discourse of countering online gendered harassment.”
After conducting a thorough research about safety of user’s profiles, Facebook decided to launch this feature in Pakistan so people can upload their pictures without any worries. The feature will not let anyone download, share or even screenshot the picture on your profile.Disclaimer:We do not allow users to post content which is copyright and We take strict actions against the users who post infringement content on our website.Although we do not host any content, users post embed videos from youtube, facebook, Dailymotion and Vimeo and are moderated before posting but we still take strict action against the copyright videos posted. If you are an official representative of any company whose videos are posted illegally on our website or you think some video infringe the copyright then you can simply send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
