Cricketer Nasir Jamshed Banned for 10 Years Over Spot-Fixing

The Pakistan Cricket Board has banned former opener Nasir Jamshed for his part in the spot-fixing scandal during the 2017 Pakistan Super League. He was first banned for a year due to not cooperating with the authorities during the investigation but now his sentence has been extended to 10 years after the PCB declared he was the “lynchpin” in the scandal.
Along with the 28-year-old, five other Pakistani players have been found guilty and punished including Sharjeel Khan, Khalid Latif, Mohammad Irfan, Mohammad Nawaz and Shahzaib Hasan. According to the legal adviser, Taffazul Rizvi, of PCB, “The tribunal has reached the verdict that the PCB’s multiple charges against Nasir Jamshed have been proved and he was banned for 10 years.”
