Amazon to Deal with Alexa’s “Cackling”
Alexa is the virtual assistant software that comes in the form of speakers created by Amazon. It works like Apple’s Siri or Google’s virtual assistant. You give a command and get a response. The smart device was created to help you upgrade to technology while also getting a helper to do little things. But a video of Alexa cackling apparently on its own that was posted on February 23rd freaked everyone out.

A chain of events started with people posting and tweeting more clips about the same thing happening to them. One user even unplugged the device and it still did not stop. Many were creeped out and more than a little scared of the virtual speakers just bursting out cackling with no command given to do so. People even jokingly mentioned how this is a sign of artificial intelligence turning on humans like it happens in sci-fi movies.
Amazon addressed the problem and said that the device was mistaking being commanded “Alexa laugh” at which it responds. But a spokesperson for the company said this, “We are changing that phrase to be ‘Alexa, can you laugh?’ which is less likely to have false positives.” Hopefully the issue will be fixed soon and people can abandon their fears of artificial intelligence turning on humans.Disclaimer:We do not allow users to post content which is copyright and We take strict actions against the users who post infringement content on our website.Although we do not host any content, users post embed videos from youtube, facebook, Dailymotion and Vimeo and are moderated before posting but we still take strict action against the copyright videos posted. If you are an official representative of any company whose videos are posted illegally on our website or you think some video infringe the copyright then you can simply send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
