6 Best Horror Movies of 2018 so far

If you are a horror movie fan, you are in the right place! We are only half-way through the year and a lot of horror movies have already hit the cinemas screens. We have assembled some of the best horror movies of 2018, if you haven’t watched them yet this is the time to make your summer nights a bit more fun.

1. Veronica

Veronica is a Netflix original, released in February. This movie has been my favourite for its story. It has been called the scariest movie for all times but we can say it is scariest movie of 2018 so far. It is inspired by true events with a twisted plots that can make you freeze in bed with horror. Veronica tells of a teen girl in Madrid that’s besieged by an evil presence after playing with an Ouija board with friends during school.

2. Upgrade

Upgrade has been released on 1st June, starring Logan Marshal Green, Richard Anastasios, and Rosco Campbell. The plot has been set in the near-future where technology controls nearly all aspects of life. It is a mixture of Sci-fi and horror.

3. Ghost Stories

The movie has not been released in world-wide cinemas. According to the critics, “Ghost Stories offers a well-crafted, skillfully told horror anthology that cleverly toys with genre tropes while adding a few devilishly frightful twists.”

4. The Ritual

The Ritual is another Netflix release of 2018. The movie is based on Adam Nevill’s novel which gives audiences a rarity these days; a haunting creature feature.

5. Annhilation

This film is both drama and a trippy Sci-fi film and ofcourse filled with horror. From the nightmare of grief and loss to the terror of the unknown, the film brings darkness to life with beautiful visuals and colors that feel new as they strike your eyes.

6. Hereditary

This film focuses on a family in distress as grief and malicious forces have their way with them, and the personal terrors come in the form of some terrifically frightening sequences. No doubt it is a very interesting watch.
