£5bn recovery plan “nowhere near enough” say opponents – BBC News

Boris Johnson says now is the time to be “ambitious” about the future of the nation. He’s set out a £5 billion recovery plan to boost the economy after the coronavirus pandemic.
However the Prime Minister refused to rule out higher taxes to pay for the costs of tackling the crisis, which has hit some of the UK’s most deprived communities particularly hard.
Mr Johnson went to the West Midlands, promising to build more homes and infrastructure projects.
But critics say the plans are nowhere near enough to give the economy the help it needs.
