11 Types of Players in Every Street Cricket Game
If you are a Pakistani, then you have played street cricket at least once with your friends and neighborhood guys. It is a right of passage for every youngster in Pakistan to grow up playing street cricket. If you have played it, then you will recognize these eleven kinds of players every street cricket team has:
1. The So-Called Captain
Every street cricket team has a captain that does all the “unimportant” tasks that nobody else wants to do. He arranges matches, takes out time from work to buy equipment and other useless stuff. And after all this effort, no one listens to him at all.
2. The Keeper
A player with inspiring words and amazing techniques. Like all the great wicket keepers in the world who have all the words needed to unsettle the batsman, he does too. But the only thing he is not good at is his actual wicket keeping skills.
3. The Jinxer
A batsman who can never win a match even when he can just take a single run to seal the game, his jinxing abilities give the win to the opposing team. It is not because he is bad at cricket, it is just because of the bad luck he has and, unfortunately, makes his team lose.
4. The Captain’s Pet
Even though he is not good at anything, but because he is the captain’s best friend, he can field from the most crucial positions and misses all the run-outs every time. He goes to open the innings but hits runs only once in a blue moon.
5. The Professor
Unlike Hafeez, he is the actual professor of cricket with all the knowledge of where to bowl, how to grip the bat, how to take singles, and even how to hit boundaries. He will teach you about each and every single detail of street cricket but when it comes to his own batting skills, he is none other than the Hafeez for Dale Steyn.
6. The Batsman
A pure batsman with great technique of hitting sixes opposite any bowler he faces and when he gets going no one can stop him. He is cool as a cucumber against any bowling attack and the one who can win matches single-handedly. But if he somehow gets out, the whole team is in trouble.
7. The All Rounder
A medium fast bowler with handy bowling technique and good in hitting some sixes later down the order.
8. The Guest Player
Almost every time the team is short one player, they have to resort to ask some player to bring his friend or even ask a random guy on the street to play with them. It is like a lottery and you never know what this player is capable of. Sometimes he turns out to be an Afridi and sometimes a Shoaib Akhtar.
9. The Real Fast Bowler
A bowler with great pace and bowling skills that can scare the batsmen facing him. He can bowl with good economy and take wickets .
10. The “Chaudhary”
The player that always blames it on others when the team loses. He is usually heard saying things like “if I had bowled we would’ve won” or “if I was on that fielding position then I would’ve caught the catch”. Every time a player fails, he starts screaming things like “Not like that! Let me bowl and I will show these bowlers”. We all have that person in our team.
11. The Good for Nothing
A player who is always standing behind the keeper, never gets to bowl, never bats and is always willing to go to bring the balls whenever it goes outside the boundary. He is the only player who gets way too excited even if the team loses.Disclaimer:We do not allow users to post content which is copyright and We take strict actions against the users who post infringement content on our website.Although we do not host any content, users post embed videos from youtube, facebook, Dailymotion and Vimeo and are moderated before posting but we still take strict action against the copyright videos posted. If you are an official representative of any company whose videos are posted illegally on our website or you think some video infringe the copyright then you can simply send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
