Even though some people may have seen the God of Mischief’s death coming, it was a huge shock. The quick and violent way he died had us questioning if he would come back as he is prone to till the end of the movie.
2. Hulk’s issues
After being beaten by Thanos in hand-to-hand combat, Hulk was more than a little reluctant to come out to play even when Banner was in the middle of a battle against alien creatures that looked suspiciously like the demogorgons from Stranger Things.

Peter Dinklage’s appearance had the whole theater shocked and excited. The large dwarf who had been the engineer behind the gauntlet that is being used by Thanos, he gets help from Thor to make a weapon that will ultimately defeat the villain.

Seeing his dementor like form was nothing but horrifying and then his face reveal had everyone gasping. Turns out, he has been the “guardian” of the Soul Stone this whole time.
5. Gamora’s death
When Red Skull tells Thanos that he would have to sacrifice something he loves in order to get the Soul Stone, everyone thought he had failed. But then he throws Gamora down the cliff, and sheds tears, shockingly. It was quite possibly one of the darkest moments of the whole movie, being faced with the fact that Thanos did love Gamora in his own twisted way.
6. Star Lord’s mistake
The moment that had us all screaming in frustration was when Star Lord learns of Gamora’s death. It couldn’t have come at a worse moment since Thanos was under the influence of Mantis while Iron Man and Spider-Man worked to get the gauntlet off his arm. They had almost had it completely off when Star Lord starts hitting Thanos once he confesses to killing Gamora.
7. Dr. Strange sacrifices the Time Stone
From the moment they met, it was obvious that Dr. Strange and Iron Man would not get along. Dr. Strange even goes so far as to say that if it came to down to it, he would save the Time Stone against Tony Stark and Peter Parker. But then when the time comes, and Iron Man is in fatal danger, Dr. Strange sacrifices the stone to save his life.
8. Thor’s awesome entrance
Right when things seemed bleak and hopeless during the battle of Wakanda, Thor appeared like a beacon of light, literally. His powers restores with Storm Breaker at his side, Thor was ready to take on Thanos.
9. Thanos wins
Unfortunately, even Thor’s brand-new axe couldn’t stop Thanos and he ends up using the gauntlet to carry out his plans. Half of the population dies, including some of our mightiest heroes like Spider-Man, Black Panther, Star Lord, Groot, Bucky, Scarlet Witch, Drax, Mantis etc.
10. After-credits scene
Right as the screen faded to black, the utter silence of the public still in shock was broken by the appearance of Nick Fury and Agent Hill on screen in the end-credits scene. We are shown some of the after effects of Thanos’ victory and then right as Fury tries to call for help on a device, he dies too along with Agent Hill. But we did get a peak at who he was trying to reach for help, and it is none other than Captain Marvel herself who is slated to make an appearance in Infinity War’s second and final installment.
