10 Best Supervillains of All Time
This is the age of superheroes and comic books. With Marvel and DC taking over Hollywood with their successful blockbuster movies, it is no shock that many people are loving superhero mania right now. But it is a bit unfair that superheroes get all the fame and spotlight. Supervillains are giving their best and honestly it is time we gave them the credit they deserve so here are the top ten best supervillains of all time.
1. Joker (Heath Ledger) – The Dark Knight
The late Heath Ledger didn’t just turn in a world-class performance as the Clown Prince of Crime in The Dark Knight (the only comic book character to win an Oscar). He changed popular culture. Everyone fell in love with this DC psychopath who really made it difficult to not root for him. This version of The Joker will forever be iconic thanks to Heath Ledger’s unforgettable performance.
2. Magneto – X-Men series
A great villain is a hero in his own mind, and no bad guy has better intentions than the mutant master of magnetism. Magneto is a monster, but only because our monstrous world made him that way.
3. Loki – MCU
Thor’s nefarious brother’s sudden-onset reincarnation as a tormented emo-glam prankster pin-up derives entirely from Tom Hiddleston. Who could not help but love the God of Mischief even if he did almost kill all the Avengers?
4. Erik Killmonger – Black Panther
With a performance for the ages from Michael B. Jordan, Erik Killmonger was a supervillain unlike any other because his crusade was based on truth and justice. His actions may have been extreme but his heart was in the right place. By the time he died, we were left feeling empty because not only did he make a place in our hearts but also in the MCU as one of the most formidable villains.
5. Venom – Spider Man
In his black symbiote-costume, Venom represents all the gritty-gross excess of the Dark Age of comics. We have yet to see a proper portrayal of the character in a movie, but the upcoming Venom with Tom Hardy seems promising.
6. Hela – Thor: Ragnarok
When Thor learns about his sister, he cannot be more surprised especially since she is Asgard’s dark history made flesh, and thus a perfect counterweight to the dopey optimism and happy-warrior mind-set of Thor. She reserved a spot on this list after she destroyed Thor’s beloved hammer, Mjölnir.
7. Dark Phoenix – X-Men
Jean Grey was one of the best members of the X-Men team but when she turns into Dark Pheonix, she becomes one of their biggest enemies. It is not just her superpowers that make her a fearful supervillain but the idea of a terrifying inner self that was always lurking within.
8. Green Goblin – Spider Man
Willem Dafoe’s portrayal as Norman Osborn and Norman’s dark alternate personality, the Green Goblin, was not only iconic but made the original Spider Man franchise so legendary and unforgettable.
9. Ra’s al Ghul – Batman Begins
His transition from mentor to antagonist made us question if we could ever trust anyone around us no matter how much they help us or seem great in the beginning.
10. Lex Luthor – Superman Returns
A genius human freed from conventional morality who dreams of reshaping the world. That is how one could describe the evil mastermind Lex Luthor who not only became the bane of Superman’s existence but also solidified his place on this list.Disclaimer:We do not allow users to post content which is copyright and We take strict actions against the users who post infringement content on our website.Although we do not host any content, users post embed videos from youtube, facebook, Dailymotion and Vimeo and are moderated before posting but we still take strict action against the copyright videos posted. If you are an official representative of any company whose videos are posted illegally on our website or you think some video infringe the copyright then you can simply send an email to email@example.com
