Priyanka Chopra Speaks About Her Alleged Engagement
The Bollywood Queen slash Quantico Star has finally spoken about her engagement. She spoke to a media event in New Delhi and stated that her personal life is for her and not for the public.
“My entire life, especially my personal life is not for public consumption. Ninety per cent of my life is for public but 10% of it is for me. I am a girl and I have the right to keep that to myself,” said Priyanka.
“Sometimes I laugh, sometimes I get annoyed. But mostly, I tell my publicists ‘Let it be, today’s news is tomorrow’s trash’.”
Rumors have been all around the internet that her alleged bae Nick Jonas proposed on her 30th birthday. Her decision to opt out of Salman Khan’s Bharat added more fuel to the fire. However, Priyanka revealed she doesn’t need to “defend or explain” anything when it comes to her family, relationships, equations with people and decisions. “I’m not running for office, so I don’t owe anyone an explanation.”
Earlier, Bharat director Ali Abbas Zafar confirmed Priyanka’s exit from the project on social media, with a cryptic tweet that suggested that she will tie the knot soon.
Salman also spoke up about Priyanka leaving the film.
“I am really happy for her. If we had known then that she has signed a big Hollywood film, we wouldn’t have stopped her from leaving the film. We go to know at the end moment, 10 days before the shooting that she wants to leave the film.”
Salman continued, “Whatever it is, her wedding, Hollywood film or the fact that she does not want to work with me, it’s her reason. We are really happy and supportive about her doing good work.”
“If she doesn’t want to work here, then in Hollywood she is making our country proud. If she doesn’t want to work with Salman Khan, she’ll work with a top actor in Hollywood and make our country proud too,” he added.
