Hugging therapy is a powerful way of healing mentally, physically and emotionally. Research shows that hugging is extremely effective at healing sickness, disease, loneliness, depression, anxiety and stress. A proper deep hug, where the hearts are pressing together, can benefit you in many ways.
Hugs increase oxytocin levels which heal feelings of loneliness, isolation and also anger. Hugs after increase and build trust and a sense of safety (remember as a child your mother’s hug made you feel secure and safe). Hugs also increase serotonin levels which elevate mood and create a feeling of happiness. Hugging increases self worth self-esteem and confidence levels (it is very important to gibe hugs to children so that they find mental stability)
