Did Motorola Copy Apple’s iPhone?
The company, which has been owned by Chinese computer firm Lenovo since 2014, has not yet commented on the criticism. Many experts are calling it a “shameless rip-off” and Google‘s image recognition algorithms have even identified the device as iPhone X.
According to analyst Ben Wood from the CCS Insight consultancy, “The growing number of identikit smartphone designs is a depressing trend and it’s little wonder consumer apathy is on the rise and replacement rates are slowing. Phone makers need to innovate and find ways to differentiate if they want to maintain consumer desire to upgrade their phones.”
The device is set to be sold in China and will cost around $350, which is almost half the price of what iPhone X costs.
