“Azaadi” Trailer Shows Moammar Rana Fighting for Kashmir
The film is about the freedom movement taking place in Jammu and Kashmir currently with a romance between Moammar’s character “Azaad” and Sonya’s character “Zara”. Directed by Irfan Malik, the film follows the female protagonist Zara who is a Pakistani journalist born and bred in UK. She comes to Kashmir and joins Azaad in his attempts to win Kashmiris their freedom back.
Talking about the movie, Sonya said “I am glad that our media industry is working on highlighting the crucial matters of our country today, other than just entertainment and drama. Zara is an independent journalist, who is a Pakistani but was born and brought up in UK. She’s free-spoken, confrontational and an empowered woman to whom, many young girls will be able to relate to. This is going to be a whole new adventure for me as it’s a very strong role and different from the ones that I have been doing. I am hoping my fans would like this new venture of mine and the role I am going to play.”
It will be released on Eid-ul-Fitr and we cannot wait to see Moammar Rana back on our screens and in such a meaningful film. Sonya also looks like she has done an incredible job alongside him and portrays a woman that Pakistani girls can look up to.
